The recent ECVIM congress in Mainz, Germany was well attended. The ESVNU stream was a thought provoking medley of lectures on topics relating to bacterial urinary tract infections.
- Guidelines for the treatment of urinary tract infections (J. Scott Weese, Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Canada)
- Mechanisms and risk of urinary tract infections (J. Scott Weese, Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Canada)
- Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in renal and urinary tract disease (Hervé Levebvre, National Veterinary School of Toulouse, France)
- Susceptibility patterns of UTI bacteria across Europe (Constança Pomba, University of Lisbon, Portugal)
There was an excellent number of abstracts submitted this year for review by the scientific panel of which 10 were selected for oral presentation and 5 as poster presentations. Information about the winners of the ESVNU oral and poster abstract prizes can be found in the 'Awards' section of the website.
