Dear colleagues

I am writing to you with 3 different pieces of news from IRIS (International Renal Interest Society):

  1. A call for the IRIS award (an award for 10K euros to an early-career clinician/scientist in nephrology)
  2. Announcing the new members of the IRIS board
  3. A call for ‘IRIS ambassadors’ – people from areas not already represented on the IRIS board to help with dissemination of IRIS guidelines and sharing knowledge of nephrology

More details on each of these items:

IRIS Award

The IRIS award is a prize of 10 000 Euros awarded to an early career clinician/scientist for their work in the field of nephrology in the last 5 years. Details of how to apply for the award are detailed in the attached application form. The deadline for applications is June 15th, 2022.

New IRIS Board Members

Following a very competitive application process IRIS is delighted to announce that the following people have joined the IRIS Board:

Marilyn Dunn                     Université de Montréal

J.D. Foster                         Friendship Hospital for Animals, Washington DC

Mary Labato                       Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University

Jessica Quimby                  The Ohio State University

Sheri Ross                           University of California Veterinary Medical Center, San Diego

New IRIS Ambassador Role

IRIS is recruiting people to serve in a new role as ambassadors. It is envisaged that IRIS ambassadors will represent areas of the world not yet represented on the IRIS board. They will help to disseminate the work of IRIS, particularly in areas where English is not the predominant language. They will serve a vital role in the mission of IRIS to help veterinary practitioners better diagnose, understand and treat renal disease in cats and dogs. More details can be found in the attached document and the on-line application form. The deadline for applications is June 15th, 2022.
