A great conference for members of the ESVNU and our sister organisation ASVNU. Really interesting topics for discussion including similarities in UTI between humans and companion animals (Dr J. Blondeau) and the controversies regarding antibiotic usage for patients with clinical bacterial cystitis versus asymptomatic bactiuria (Dr S. Weese) and some great prospects in terms of the use of asymptomatic E.coli strains for the treatment of recurrent UTI (Dr J. Westropp). Members of the ASVNU met at their annual AGM to discuss a number of matters including the future development of an ACVIM subspecialty in nephrology and urology (Dr. L. Cowgill & Dr D. Polzin) and the collaboration between ESVNU and ASVNU. With on-going work we hope to ensure the continuity of a combined listserv between the two societies so that we can maintain discussion related to all matters kidney and urinary tract! Hoping that we will see some of our American colleagues over at ESVNU in September in Lisbon.
